I figured MTGO would be a great way to play. Part of the reason I’m not getting into it as quickly is because I moved and have absolutely no one to play with. I never looked into it though to see how much it is. I can’t wait for Avacyn Restored to come out. I want to make a blue-red control deck that makes use of the new miracle ability.
Oh yeah, Miracle looks like an amazing mechanic. That deck would be really fun, and with some Ponder/scry stuff I imagine quite potent.
I love MTGO for a variety of reasons. You can play whenever you want, despite your Magic friends not being around or available (or awake, lol); you don’t have to buy sleeves or worry about card conditions ever; it makes deck building and sorting a breeze compared to giant piles and boxes like IRL; etc…
Sign up is like $10 or something, and you start of with one booster of M12, the rest is just like IRL where you buy packs (drafting is best for getting a good card pool going), and they give you a bunch of gold bordered (non-legal) cards for casual play while you’re still starting your collection.
The downside is that it’s kind of addictive, and the interface is clunky and takes a bit of getting used to. Though, I’d be happy to show you the ropes. :)
is coming back. Which sucks, because I don’t want to be spending money right now. Instead I look up all the cards and think of possible deck ideas. I think I’ll just buy a fat pack for every set that is released, that way I have a booklet of all the cards in each set.
If you ever want to play online on MTGO, let me know. :)
